Humberto Brito

Humberto Brito is a FCT Post-doctoral researcher at IFILNOVA and at the Program in Literary Theory (University of Lisbon). He obtained his PhD at the Universidade de Lisboa (2007), and he directed the Philosophy and Literature Network from 2009 to 2015­. He is the founder and director of Forma de Vida (formadevida.org).
In the recent years he was a visiting scholar at the Universidade de Lisboa, Stanford University, and the University of Chicago, where he had teaching appointments. His interests include Aristotle’s Poetics, philosophy of art and philosophy of action, and issues of ethics that arise in literature and literary theory. 
He is in charge of the R&D projects titled «Literature and Art in the Space of Reasons» (IFL-S-1), and «Intention, Action and the Philosophy of Art» (url: http://intentionactionandart.info/, PTDC/FIL-FIL/116733/2010), and he is a member of «Estranging Pessoa» project (url: http://estranharpessoa.com/, PTDC/CLE-LLI/119065/2010). Currently, he is writing a book on Fernando Pessoa and the person-form.
